In Like A Lion, Out Like A... Bigger Lion

Happy Easter, everybody! And, in true TC style, it's snowing this morning! Ooo, and cold, too! That should add extra excitement to the kiddies' egg hunt. If not extra head colds and strep throat. Fun.

Big lions make me think of Narnia, and Narnia makes me think of A. endless winters, and B. candy (remember the Turkish delight? Which, no, is not a kinky sex move; it's a type of jelly candy that only the British could love).

Since the thought of endless winters is horrifying, let's concentrate on the candy part. Easter candy has long been one of The Cheap Chick's favorite food groups. I'm partial to Cadbury Cream Eggs, Cadbury Carmel Eggs - okay, ANYTHING by Cadbury floats my boat - and marshmallow eggs.

There are a couple Easter candies, though, that have never tripped my trigger. Those big, nasty, non-Jelly Belly jelly beans and those malted Robin's eggs. Where is the chocolate in either item? If it doesn't contain the big C, what is the point? It’s a waste of calories – calories better spent on Cadbury and Totinos.

Ooo, Totinos should make an egg-shaped pizza for Easter. I would totally buy that.

If you don’t get enough candy today, and really, when have you EVER gotten enough candy? Have you ever reached a point where you’ve looked around and thought, “Hmm. That may just be enough candy,” ever in your life? Me neither.

So, if you don’t get enough candy today, please remember that Target marks down their holiday items 50% off on the day after the holiday. So if you skibble off to Target tomorrow, you can get TWO bags of chocolate for the price of ONE. And that’s just being frugal, folks.

That's just a challenge to bring up the "Chilean Rainbow," isn't it? Although I imagine it would be fun to just randomly make up names for stuff. "Oh hey, did you hear they were caught doing the Lichenstein Jingle? And the Glad Chad? And the Belgian Buffalo?"

Go ahead! Pick some random country/city and a random noun/adjective. Its fun for the whole family.

Also? I love malted eggs. Can't eat them anymore, but they are wonderful, and typically have a chocolate coating. I will be there with bells on waiting in line for Target to open tomorrow morning. Maybe I will even be doing the "Fiery Chicago Football."

You don't know.

I want to know if JC saw his shadow and we are going to have six more weeks of winter.

Cadbury Mini Eggs are the absolute best to buy the day/week after Easter since they can be kept in the fridge for a long time.

I also like SweeTarts Chicks, Ducks and Bunnies.

Also, Sees Chocolate Butter Eggs are absolutely divine (how could a mixture of pure butter and chocolate be anything but divine?). They have pretty sugar flowers on top, too.

Mia has the right idea. I think that at lunch today I will try to go to two or three Walgreen's and buy up the Cadbury mini eggs on sale. I like how the crunchy chalky shell contrasts with the creamy chocolate. Way better than anything that comes from MArs or Hershey.

Believe it or not, all Cadbury's products are made by Hershey's.

I heard that they made red and green mini eggs for Christmas, but those never made it to my local stores.
