Awesomely AWESOME

Also? Awesome, awesome, AWE. SOME.

Today’s post is dedicate to my Dad, who’s computer I am using Right Now to post this post. He hates it when I use the word 'awesome,' so naturally I try to say it at least a half billion times in his presence. It’s just the way I am.

Tip Of The Day: AWESOME summer-long sales and clearance events at two of my favorite thrift stores. Also, a store e-mail list you should actually join – as they don’t send you annoying propaganda and DO send you (awesome) coupons all the time.

Tip For Tomorrow: Go to Omaha. Hey, I’m here this weekend if you need a reason to visit.
More importantly, it’s an inexpensive travel destination you can reach on just one tank of gas. With prices being what they are, you should think closer to home for your road tripping.
So if you live in the Midwest, consider unlikely hot spots like Des Moines, or Omaha, or Ooooo! MILWAUKEE! The birthplace of The Chick’s parents!

Further Elucidation Of My Cheap Deal: I like thrift stores, and I like sales, and when you put the two together it’s better than chocolate and peanut butter. That’s why I’m in love with Arc’s Value Village this summer.

This June and July, Value Village is having Thrifty Thursdays. You’ll receive 25% off everything in the store every Thursday for two whole months. That’s nine days (nine times, Mrs. Bueller) worth of sales on stuff that’s already really, really cheap.

If that’s not enough for you, Value Village is having their Summer Clearance Sale July 26th and 27th, where you’ll save 50% off the whole store. Go here to learn more.

Next thing you know, they’ll start picking stuff out for you, delivering it to your home, and giving it to you for FREE. Guess what that would be? AWESOME.

If you don’t like thrift stores and insist upon shopping at consignment stores instead, FINE. Be a snob, see what I care. Also? Nu Look Consignment is having their next clearance sale July 10th.

Every single thing in the store will be 50% off – including designer jeans like Hudson, designer shoes like Prada (PRADA!), and designer hand bags like Kate Spade. Real Spade too, not Fade (faux-Spade). And here is their website (I’m really getting the hang of this whole hidden links thing,no?).

Although I’ve pointed out numerous times (ex. yesterday’s post) that I do not sew, I DO appreciate coupons. And, I do appreciate fabric and tend to buy a lot of it – which I then pass on to Larue and demand she turn it into a costume for me.

Therefore, I just joined JoAnn Fabric’s e-mail list to get in-store coupons 1 to 4 times a month. Go here if you want to start saving big time on all your crafty needs.

Alrighty then, that’s three awesome ways to save this summer. What other great deals do you know about that you are dying to share with the blogosphere? Please visit Mr. Comments Section below and tell the world.

And last but not least – AWESOME. Sorry Dad.

I don't think my hips could fit in Hudson jeans but I am willing to give it a try.

I am so deeply touched that you have joined the Joann E-mail group... I may just cry over here.

I am very excited about all of the sales this summer. Don't forget that they are giving out coupon books at Saver's for this summer as well! (While supplies last!)

Indeed I believe it to be AWESOME. (Love you Pop!)

This is a majorly AWESOME post. I found a skirt at NuLook for $39 which I totally couldn't justify, but it should go down in June, and then HALF? If it is still there, I'm so AWESOMELY buying it.

I can't sew to save my life...but I really like JoAnn's selection of Wilton cake decorating and baking supplies. They need to put that stuff on sale more often, though!

Wow. That sale at Arc's is too good to pass up! I might be there every Thursday in June. :)

Milwaukee is an excellent road trip option. I grew up there and it's a cute little city. Plus, during the summer there are tons and tons of festivals. My favorite is Summerfest, a huge music fest. For the price admission, you can see a bunch of great bands--and there's something for everyone, too. For some reason, everything seems to be cheaper in Milwaukee, too.

I hope you had a good trip!
