When In Rome,

Do as the Romans do. Or did. Whatever.
In others words, here is my politically incorrect post about Christmas. Yup, I said it - Christmas. Nope, I'm not saying "the holidays." I'm using the politically incorrect word Christmas. Don’t judge me. That’s not in keeping with the holiday spirit.

This blog idea is brought to you by the lovely Standing Still For Once, the aforementioned Roman I am copying. You can click over to her blog on the right to read her answers. And while you're there, check out her lovely pottery for sale. Yes, she DOES have items for less than $20. They make fantastic gifts all year long.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Bags baby, bags. You can buy them for 69 cents a bag at Value Village, regardless of size. I plan to stock up.
2. When do you put up the tree?
When I feel like it. I live alone, so who's going to argue? The voices in my head?
3. When do you take the tree down?
After my birthday, which is January 27th. Start shopping now.
4. Favorite Gift you received as a child?
I don’t know when we got them, but my brother and I had ginormous, life-size Tinker Toys.
5. Do you have a nativity scene?
No, but I want the Veggie Tales one. The Baby Jesus is a pea. Nothing screams ‘the sanctity of Christ’ like a green, plastic, Baby Jesus pea.
6. Hardest person to buy for?
My step-mother – except for this year. This year, I got her tons of stuff from her list, all under $20. I RULE.
7. Easiest person to buy for?
My nephew, Piglet. The hard part is stopping.
8. Worst Christmas gift ever received?
Apparently, my friends and family rock at gift giving, because I don’t remember getting any sucky gifts. Plus, I’m pretty vocal about what I want and what I like.
9. Christmas Cards?
Ugh, don’t remind me.
10. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I only like one, White Christmas. I, too, would like to wash my hair in snow, snow, snow, snow, SNOW.
11. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
When the sales begin, I begin.
12. Have you ever 'recycled' a Christmas present?
No, as I said earlier, I like all the stuff I get. Why would I give it away?
13. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Um, food? ALL OF IT.
14. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
Clear - so as not to compete with the red walls in my living room. Yes, red.
15. Favorite Christmas Song?
Gabriel’s Message sung by Sting.
16. Travel at Christmas or Stay Home?
I’m going to Chicago to see my baby Piglet, the world’s greatest nephew. No, you can’t have him. Get your own Piglet.
17. Can you name Santa's Reindeer?
No. Nor do I want to. That’s too much pressure during the season. I'm just happy I can remember my own name.
18. Do you have an Angel or a Star on top of your tree?
Neither. My tree is too small to really carry off a topper.
19. Open the Presents Christmas Eve or Morning?
When I was a kid, it was ALWAYS Eve. Now I open them the second I get my grubby little mitts on them.
20. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
Everything makes me cry. EVERYTHING. I was crying over a dog food commercial the other day.
21. Do you decorate outside for Christmas or just inside?
Just inside. Does that make me Grinch-like? Or just lazy?
22. Favorite Christmas cookie?
ALL OF THEM. Have you SEEN my ass?
23. Do you own Christmassy clothing or jewelry?
Heck, no. If I see you wearing a Christmas sweater, you’d better run. I don’t CARE if you spent less than $20 on it.
24. Do you believe in Santa?
My Ma told me that if I questioned Santa’s existence, I may not get presents. Why take that risk?
25. Worst thing you ever did at Christmas?
Nothing, I am a saint. Just ask me.
THE END

If you are still shopping for holiday gifts, I recommend Old Navy. They have tons of stuff for less than $20, including a cute red shawl collar sweater SOMEBODY better get for me.
Plus, their Infant/Toddler clothes are either 40 or 50% off, depending on the item. I got a fuzzy gray hoodie, size 12 to 18 Months, for $6.25 (50% off) for Piglet. My friend Larue is going to embroider a Piglet on it for me. The Disney character, not my nephew’s face.

Shop Of The Day: Old Navy, for their $20 or Less Gift Sale.

Activity Of The Day: Copy and paste the list above onto your blog, and fill it out for yourself. Q and A is fun.

And what a lovely gift it will be for the piglet in your life. I just hope I can do him justice.

Sniff.

And you've always had a thing for cookies.

If I recall, Lite Bright was a pretty crappy gift, though the thought was good.

It was Rainbow Brite. And you tried!!! It's the thought that counts - that, and we were able to return it.
