Tip Of The Day: I found two new hair care products that I kind of LOVE. A LOT. What is it with me and under-$4 hair stuff? It’s like an obsession, bordering on an illness. But hey! At least my hair looks nice.
Also, the easiest recipe in the blogosphere for the best tasting, non-alcoholic, calorie-free drink you can consume this summer. And? I think it might even be good for you.

Tip For The Weekend: Do unto to others, and perhaps they will give you money. The next time someone says, “I’ll pay you to do X,” take them up on it. As long as it meets the three Cheap Chick standards – it isn’t illegal, too immoral, and allows me to keep most of my clothes on – why not go for it?
Do you want to know what I’m doing? I’ll BET you do, you dirty kitties. Actually, I’m just showing a house for a friend while she’s out of town. Hah! And you thought it was something naughty.

Further Elucidation Of My Cheap Deal: In my on-going quest to try every Sunsilk product known to mankind, I recently bought a bottle of their Waves of Envy Beach Spray. And because I’m growing out my hair to even longer lengths (look out, Crystal Gayle), I bought Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner for Long Hair.


Hmm. Can you guess how much I love the Sunsilk? I bought that bottle a week ago, and look at how much I’ve already used.

Sunsilk Waves of Envy
Pros: It’s not stinky, it sprays on evenly, it holds a wave in even my stubborn hair, it dries quickly, and it really texturizes. Finally! Something that gives volume to my lifeless locks.
Cons: It can be drying. I recommend not using it every day and upping your conditioner strength. Which brings me to my next review.

Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship
Pros: It has the color, consistency and smell of berry yogurt. Which is a good thing. It’s very thick, so a little goes a long way, and it really REALLY makes my hair soft. REALLY. It’s also makes it look less split-endy and fuzzy on the bits I over-blow dry.
Cons: Because it’s so thick, it’s hard to squeeze out of the bottle. And because it’s so conditioning, it takes a bit longer to rinse out. But these are minor complaints – all in all, this product is worth the $3 and change.

Next up, the best thing you can drink this summer, and no, it’s not a margarita. It is Fujian Oolong Iced Tea – and here’s how you make it.

Step one; procure the tea. I use Mrs. Kelly’s loose leaf tea, which you can buy here.



Step two; measure out two wee palm-fulls, about this big:



Step three; put the tea in a Pyrex measuring cup, fill it with water, and nuke it on High for 3 minutes. You can leave it steeping for awhile – the stuff below steeped while I showered and blew my hair dry.



Step four; strain the ridiculously strong tea into a pitcher and add water to your desired level of dilution. Remember, oolong tea is not supposed to be very strong – this isn’t Starbuck’s Coffee, folks.



Step five; apply it to your mouth. Mmmmmm, so much better than Lipton’s. And They Who Know More Than I Do claim that oolong tea is loaded with anti-oxidants. I don’t know, and I don’t care, I just drink it because it tastes REALLY good.
