Try And Love One Another Right Now

Ooooo, does that sound DIRTY! Perhaps my mind is just in the gutter today. Or, every day.

Tip Of The Day: Okay, all of us loving each other RIGHT NOW might be impossible, both logistically and morally. But you can show your love by supporting good causes like the American Cancer Society and the Clean Water Action Fund. Best of all? You’ll save big bucks by being a do-gooder.

Tip For Tomorrow: What’s on YOUR mind? I know what’s on mine – the ever-increasing cost of fuel. Stop by Cheap But Not Easy to vent your rage and give us your tips on how to conserve gas.

Further Elucidation Of My Cheap Deal: Even though I’m relatively poor, I still like donating to a good cause when I can. Better still, I can promote good causes on my blog and encourage my fearless readers to get involved, too. And by encourage, I mean bully and nag, of course.

However, this blog’s purpose, first and foremost, is to be a resource on how to live cheap and fabulous. And that is a charge I take VERY SERIOUSLY. Or, at least as seriously as I take anything in life. Which isn’t much. Whatever.

So, here’s how you can support two great causes, and save money in the process. In short, you’ll benefit yourself while benefiting others. Good for you! Way to be a giver!

First up is the Aveda Institute. You save money every day when you get your beauty treatments – facials, massages, hair services, mani/pedis – done at the Institute. But now you can spend even LESS. In honor of Earth Day (April 22nd), they are slashing their prices to 50% OFF.

Here’s the skinny:
Monday, April 21st, the day before Earth Day, students will volunteer their time at the school.
They will provide facials, hair services and massages.
These services will be 50 % off their already low prices!
All proceeds will go to the Clean Water Action Fund.
For more information about Aveda’s involvement, go to:
http://www.greengrants.org/.
To make an appointment for the 21st (do it TODAY), call 612-331-1400.
Al Gore is already happy with you, just for thinking about calling Aveda.

Next is the American Cancer Society. They are having a massive gift sale in Brooklyn Park, with everything 60 to 75% off retail prices. Shop early for Christmas gifts, or just buy stuff for yourself – no one will judge you.

Also? The sale will be across the street from S.R. Harris Fabric Outlet, giving you an excellent excuse to stop by and get more fabric for 50% off. Not that you NEED an excuse to go to S.R. Harris

Here’s the 411 on the Gift Sale:
The sale is May 1st, 9 AM to 8 PM, and May 2-4th, 9 AM to 5 PM.
There will be over 10,000 square feet of shopping.
Everything is 60 to 75% off retail!
They’re offering collectibles, ornaments, home décor, jewelry, PURSES, tableware, and other holiday and seasonal items.
Shop the great bargains and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission.
Located at 8400 89th Ave. N. in Brooklyn Park.
For more info, call 651-255-8100.

Doesn’t it feel good to give of yourself to others? And, if you end up with a fabulous new purse, doesn’t that feel EVEN BETTER?

Ooh! The American Cancer Society garage sale is fabulous. We should go. And then spend hours wandering SR Harris, wrapped in chiffon and silk. Swanning about, as it were.

And I am signing up for a massage at Aveda. Sewing is stressful, yo.
